Arsenal and Man United 'interested' in £43m-rated ace as Burnley set sights on striker

Latest transfer news and rumours from the Premier League including updates on Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Burnley

Arsenal are ‘interested’ in a move for Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado this summer, according to CaughtOffside. The player is said to be valued in the region of £43million. Manchester United and Chelsea are also said to be the frame, whilst Bayer Leverkusen have had a bid rejected in the past.

Casado, 21, has been on the books of Barca since 2016 and has risen up through their ranks. He has made 41 appearances for the La Liga giants in all competitions to date. However, his long-term future in Spain is up in the air amid attention from elsewhere.

The 3am verdict: Casado is young and has potential to get better down the line. If Arsenal are able to snap him up, he would be a good long-term option. He may struggle to get into their team initially due to competition for places. However, he would provide solid competition and depth for the Gunners in the middle of the park. They may need to see off competition from elsewhere to get him too.

Arsenal update regarding Benjamin Sesko

As per TEAMtalk, Arsenal have cooled their pursuit of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. The Gunners have explored the possibility of luring the forward to England in this window. However, it appears they are now pursuing other targets.

Sesko has caught the eye in Germany over the past couple of years and has been in impressive form in front of goal. He has scored 39 goals in 87 games altogether for his current club, 21 of which came last season. TEAMtalk’s latest report on him suggests that Al-Hilal are now keen on him in Saudi Arabia.

The 3am verdict: Arsenal are crying out for a striker and Benjamin Sesko would be ideal for them. However, it doesn’t appear that a deal will be happening and they will have to look at some other options. At the age of 22, it would be a shame if he went to Al-Hilal. He should try and test himself at a top European club instead of going to the Middle East. However, money talks and he would be on big cash over there.

Burnley target Josh Sargent

Burnley are keen on Norwich City striker Josh Sargent, The Sun report. The Clarets are preparing for life back in the Premier League. They won promotion from the Championship along with Leeds United and Sunderland.

Sargent has been a key player for the Canaries over recent times and they could face a battle to keep hold of him over the coming weeks. The USA international, who is 25-years-old, has fired 48 goals in 130 outings for the Canaries to date. He is under contract at Carrow Road until June 2028.

The 3am verdict: Burnley need to get their recruitment right in this window to ensure that they are ready for the step up in quality in the Premier League. Josh Sargent has proved he can score goals for Norwich City in the Championship so could be a shrewd addition for the Clarets. He would give them more competition and depth at the top end of the pitch.
