Report: Club contact agent of £22m-rated Nottingham Forest star, Crystal Palace fans will be…

Nottingham Forest have endured a pretty turbulent start to the transfer window in 2025, it would seem.

Anthony Elanga has joined Newcastle for a fee close to £60 million, whilst Morgan Gibbs-White could also depart the club, with Tottenham keen.

It’s so frustrating for Forest to be losing their best players just a few months after qualifying for Europe for the first time in 30 years, but here we are.

Igor Jesus has signed for the club from Botafogo, whilst Ross Wilson praised Jair Cunha after he signed for the club from the same Brazilian outfit.

Forest are going in search of some new players this summer, but it appears as though the club might not be finished when it comes to allowing players to depart the City Ground.

Botafogo want Nottingham Forest star Danilo

According to Fogao Net, Botafogo have now come forward to try and prise Danilo away from Forest and back to Brazil during the summer window, with the player valued at £22 million.

The Brazilian performer signed for Forest for £16 million in the January 2023 window and was instrumental in keeping the Reds in the Premier League when he first arrived at the club.

Last season did prove a bit of a slog for him, with Danilo breaking his ankle in the opening match of the season against Bournemouth and being forced to spend six months recovering.

Lyon have courted Danilo, but their issues with John Textor selling the club and recently winning their appeal over relegation to Ligue 2 have made that deal pretty tricky.

Danilo has been the subject of enquiries from Real Betis and Inter, but so far, Botafogo are the only club to speak to the player’s agent over a possible move.

Crystal Palace will be angry with Botafogo wanting Danilo

Crystal Palace are currently trying to tell everyone and anyone who will listen that they deserve to be in the Europa League despite the fact that John Textor failed to put his Eagles shares into a blind trust as per the UEFA requirements.

There is real danger that the Premier League club will be kicked out of the Europa League next season and if that is the case, Forest are likely to be the main beneficiaries.

Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis wrote to UEFA to discover more about the rules of multi-club ownership, and now Palace fans seem to think he’s twisting the arm of the powers that be at UEFA.

The consensus is that Textor and Marinakis being mates has somehow ended up with Forest being the bad guys in all of this and that feels a little bit unfair.

With Forest already buying two players from Botafogo this summer and now the Brazilian outfit eyeing Danilo, this will only fuel the fire in the eyes of Palace fans that Marinakis and Textor are laughing at Palace.
