Chelsea winger Noni Madueke is set to complete his switch to Arsenal after agreeing to a five-year contract.
Arsenal Close in on Madueke Transfer from Chelsea
Arsenal are closing in on completing the signing of **Chelsea**‘s young winger Noni Madueke in this window.
The player is in London to finalise his move. The two PL clubs have reportedly agreed on a transfer fee. Madueke has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal. The Englishman is likely to have his medical soon before signing a five-year deal with the North London side.
As per Sky Sports, the Gunners see Madueke as a key attacking signing for Mikel Arteta’s squad ahead of the new season. He is likely to join new signings Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga at the Emirates. Now, it looks like a busy summer of squad strengthening in north London side this transfer window.
Star to Compete for Right-Wing Spot at the Emirates
Madueke is famous for his speed, flair, and direct attacking attitude. He will be excited to bring fresh energy into Arsenal’s frontline. Though naturally a right winger, he has also been used on the left while playing for Chelsea. So, that gives Arteta more tactical options. The head coach can play him on both wings when needed.
However, making regular starts won’t be easy for the player. Bukayo Saka is firmly holding the right-wing role at the moment. So, Madueke might be used as a rotation option. He may provide depth and pace off the bench. Arsenal will be competing across multiple competitions next season.
Though, his long-term role is yet to be decided. But, his arrival adds much needed competition and could help elevate the overall attacking standards at the club. The Gunners are still looking for more signings in wide and forward roles.
