Nottingham Forest told €20m needed – Sale wanted, first offer awaited

Nottingham Forest are looking for a new winger in the market, after selling Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United last week.

The Reds have PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko on their agenda and have to battle with other clubs for his signature.

Two days ago, we covered claims from the Dutch press which stated Nottingham Forest are very interested in the 22-year-old, while his agent is said to have leaked Bayer Leverkusen are the most concrete option.

On Sunday, claims from elsewhere stated the Belgium international has agreed terms with Erik ten Hag’s side. Eindhoven Dagblad relay that and provide their own take, including on Nottingham Forest.

ED have found out from sources close to the Eredivisie side that the winger hasn’t agreed personal terms nor have PSV received an offer from Bayer Leverkusen, who are aware that €20m is needed to sign the player.

As well as the Bundesliga club, Nottingham Forest, AS Monaco and RB Leipzig are also showing interest in Bakayoko. According to ED, PSV have informed these clubs of their €20m price and are ‘waiting for the first offer’.

Bakayoko’s contract expires in 2026 and therefore a sale in this window seems a ‘perfect solution’ for all parties involved.

The price could be within Nottingham Forest’s reach, and they would have to convince the attacker to get this deal over the line. The Belgian managed 12 goals and three assists last season.
