SK Brann’s Eivind Helland has emerged as a potential target for Manchester United, according to a report from Norway.
The 20-year-old initially joined Brann’s reserve team in 2022 and was promoted to their first team a year later. The Norwegian club lost only three of the 13 games he’s started so far this year.
His impressive performances have caught Manchester United’s attention and the club have sent a scout to watch the centre-back in action. That’s according to VG, who state the Red Devils watched him live in action against Viking at the Brann Stadion on Sunday.
Brann’s ‘great talent’ played the full 90 minutes as his side secured a 3-1 win.
Helland’s agent Morten Wivestad was also in the stadium yesterday. VG contacted the representative to ask about Manchester United interest, but he didn’t respond.
After the match, the defender was specifically asked about the Premier League club following him and said he’s unware of any interest.
“I haven’t thought much about it [Manchester United] That’s just the way it is. That’s how the football world is,” he said, as quoted by VG.
The Norway U21 international’s contract expires in December 2026.
When asked if he plans to leave Brann this summer, Hellan explained: “I’m very calm about it. I feel very comfortable here, and my plan is to stay here. No, I’m going to play really well with Brann.”
Thanks to @RonnyS0L for the heads-up from Norway.
