Arsenal to make fresh offer quickly – €15m Gunners bid will be increased

At the start of this month, Cristhian Mosquera rejected a renewal offer from Valencia and asked them to negotiate his sale to Arsenal. He took this step after the Gunners saw their initial bid rejected towards the end of last month.

Since then, the Premier League side haven’t made an improved bid. The Spanish media were concerned the defender, who is hoping to join Arsenal this summer, could be left in a limbo.

That won’t be the case as Levante-EMV, a newspaper local to the La Liga side, state Mikel Arteta’s side haven’t forgotten about the 21-year-old.

They report this is a ‘crucial week’ for the defender’s future as Arsenal will make a new bid in the coming days. The north London club have seen their initial offer of €15m turned down and are hopeful their second proposal will be enough to close the operation.

There’s no mention of the fee Arsenal intend to offer or Valencia’s demands, while earlier claims have stated Los Ches need at least €20m.

Valencia manager Carlos Corberán has tried to keep the Spain U21 international, but he’s keen on joining Arsenal. They are offering a better project and salary than what Los Ches can propose.

Therefore, Levante-EMV state Valencia are ‘in a weak position in the negotiations’ with Arsenal, also due to the player’s contract expiring in 2026. There’s the risk of losing him for free next summer, should they decide not to sell him in this window.
