Report: Gem wanted by Forest to replace Morgan Gibbs-White set to meet Champions League club…

Nottingham Forest are going to be on the lookout for some new players this summer, with a turbulent start to the transfer window experienced by the club.

Igor Jesus has been signed by Forest and Ross Wilson has praised Jair Cunha after he also signed for the Reds from Botafogo.

Forest have sold Anthony Elanga to Newcastle and in a further blow to the fan base, Morgan Gibbs-White is in talks over a move to Tottenham.

It leaves Forest with some serious gaps to plug in the squad and with two players of such importance leaving the club, it’s going to make signing players more difficult for the Reds.

Nuno Espirito Santo will want some serious reinforcements for his squad with the Reds playing in four competitions next season.

Nottingham Forest target James McAtee to meet with Champions League club

Forest have been linked with McAtee as a possible replacement for Gibbs-White, but according to Florian Plettenberg, he’s going to meet with Eintracht Frankfurt this week.

The Bundesliga outfit were brilliant last season and a third-place finish guaranteed them a spot in next season’s Champions League.

It’s believed that although there is no agreement in place between the clubs over a transfer, McAtee is making a visit and holding some talks.

Dortmund are also in the mix to sign him this summer and it appears as though the Manchester City starlet might not be an easy player for Forest to snare.

Forest looking to replace Gibbs-White quickly

The move made by Tottenham to land Gibbs-White has come pretty much out of the blue and it’s going to be a real blow to Forest.

Clearly, Gibbs-White wants to appease England boss Thomas Tuchel ahead of the World Cup and play regularly in the Champions League.

Forest are going to be going in search of a player with a similar profile, and there are a lot of similarities between McAtee and Gibbs-White when he first signed for Forest.

The City player is moving in search of first-team football and at 22-years-old there is a lot to like about the versatile attacker who has just helped England win the European under-21 Championship.
