Arsenal have been boosted in their pursuit of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze as the midfielder wants to move to the Emirates this summer.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have told him about the 27-year-old’s much-anticipated move to the Emirates this summer.
While the England international is not expected to agitate for the move, he is keen to play Champions League football and compete for honours on a regular basis.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 13 July that Arsenal are prepared to meet Eze’s release clause if they cab reach an agreement over the payment structure.
While Oliver Glasner’s side are reluctant to let Eze leave, the two clubs are continuing in negotiations as Arsenal are unable to pay the full £68million up front.
Instead, they are aiming to structure the payment with a significant sum up front and the rest paid in installments, and there is a feeling progress has been made.

Arsenal pushing to sign Eberechi Eze after Crystal Palace latest
Football Insider revealed on 30 June that Arsenal have enquired about Eze’s potential availability and have held talks with his representatives over a move.
Since then, talks have been ongoing about the structure of the deal as the Gunners continue to show ambition in what is shaping up to be a busy window.
O’Rourke explained that Eze’s interest in a move to the Emirates could be key for Arsenal’s pursuit and the attacking midfielder believes he can make an impact there.
“*It seems like Arsenal are really going for it in the summer transfer window,*” he told Football Insider.
“The key for them here is that Eze is very much interest in a move to Arsenal from Palace.
“This is his opportunity to play Champions League football, play at the highest level, and be competing for honours on a regular basis.
“He had a taste of that last season with Crystal Palace when he scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
“Eze obviously is a confident player, he feels he can go to Arsenal and make an impact there.
“It would be a big blow for Crystal Palace to see him leave, but if Arsenal were to get him it’s about where he’s going to fit into that team.
“Does he play wide left, or does he fit into the number ten role where he’s had success with Palace.
“Talks are ongoing between the two clubs, Palace will demand that they get that full release clause, but they won’t be able to get it all up front.
“Arsenal won’t be able to splash out £68million straight away as well as signing Madueke and Gyokeres, that might be too much for FFP and PSR.
“They want to knock down the up-front payment a bit and pay the rest in installments.”

Ethan Nwaneri could quit the Emirates after contract twist
While talk continues about a number of potential incomings at the Emirates, there are also concerns that they could lose one of their key young players.
Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider on 13 July that Ethan Nwaneri could quit Arsenal after being treated unfairly in contract negotiations.
The 18-year-old has become a regular fixture in Mikel Arteta’s squad, but the wages on offer are not expected to match those of his more senior teammates.
However, Football Insider exclusively revealed on 7 July that Arsenal are determined to keep Nwaneri and have no intention of letting him leave this summer.
