Nottingham Forest inform midfielder he’s for sale – Made clear to his representatives

Nottingham Forest have made it clear that midfielder Danilo is available for transfer this summer.

[As reported by Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exVo_KyFGys&ab_channel=CanaldoNicola), the club have informed the player’s representatives of their decision and are now asking for €25m (around £21m) for a permanent deal.

Danilo was previously close to joining Lyon for nearly €20m, but the move collapsed due to the French side’s financial and regulatory issues.

With the player now back on the market, Forest have raised their demands despite the failed negotiation, and are now looking to make a profit on the midfielder.

He was signed from Palmeiras in January 2023 for a fee of €20m (around £17.8m at the time), following his standout performances in Brazil.

After a quiet start at the City Ground, he had a promising 2023/24 season. He made 34 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

Even after a consistent year, his involvement dropped in 2024/25, with only 13 appearances recorded over the entire campaign.

His performances showed glimpses of potential, yet he was often used in rotation and finished the campaign with limited impact.

In January, Danilo was also approached by Napoli, Inter Milan and Real Betis, though none of those clubs advanced to formal bids.

It remains to be seen whether they, or others, will return at the current price tag.
