West Ham’s transfer window looks as though it is about to ramp up.

David Sullivan has seemingly greenlit a spending spree ahead of Graham Potter’s first full season in charge in East London.

Jean-Clair Todibo is the only permanent signing at the London Stadium so far this summer, but this could be set to change with West Ham interested in Leicester City winger Bilal El Khannouss.

Following the departure of Mohammed Kudus to bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur, money is available to spend for Kyle Macaulay and his team.

If El Khannouss does make the move to West Ham, then he could find himself linking up with full-back El Hadji Malick Diouf on the left flank, with the Senegalese international set to undergo a medical ahead of his move to E20.

According to reports from L’Equipe (July 13), the Irons are one of the clubs interested in a move for El Khannouss.

The 21-year-old winger is said not to want to play in the Championship following Leicester’s relegation, with West Ham enquiring about the Moroccan international.

West Ham may need to set their sights higher

With Potter’s job certain to be under threat next season if West Ham do not get off to a good start, relying on a 21-year-old to replace one of your best players could be a risky move.

Aside from his maiden Premier League campaign, El Khannouss only has experience playing in the Belgian Pro League.

Perhaps the youngster could be a good squad option if Crysencio Summerville steps up in Kudus’ absence and establishes his place in the starting XI.

Summerville struggled last season after making the move from Leeds United, with the 23-year-old frequently injured or behind Kudus and Jarrod Bowen in the pecking order for playing time.

El Khannouss would fancy his chances after featuring regularly last season, and the pair could provide Potter with a managerial headache next season regarding who should start.
