Wolves have offer rejected for midfielder – Decision also made about Nottingham Forest approach

Last week, reports from Brazilian press reported on Nottingham Forest’s interest in Palmeiras midfielder Richard Rios. Wolves have now made a move of their own for the 25-year-old and the race for the player is heating up.

SportItalia’s Gianluigi Longari reports on Rios’ situation, explaining Palmeiras have rejected every offer that has come their way for the midfielder.

Wolves have come forward for him in the last few hours, offering €25m. The highest offer has been made by Nottingham Forest, who put forward €26m to sign Rios.

AS Roma, who are currently the favourites for the player’s signature, have tried to insert bonuses in their offer, but that attempt has also been knocked back by Palmeiras.

The Giallorossi see Rios as a priority signing for this summer and it remains to be seen how far Wolves and Nottingham Forest can push them in the race. The Colombia international is keen on a move to Roma and that is why the two English clubs have their work cut out.

The 25-year-old impressed during the FIFA Club World Cup, assisting twice in five games and it’s no surprise that suitors are lining up for him.
