The Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx basketball teams have entered into a multi-year partnership with Jump.
The deal sees Jump become the exclusive fan experience and ticketing provider of the NBA and WNBA sides.
“With Jump, we’re solving a real challenge for front offices helping teams build stronger, more meaningful connections with their fans,” said co-chairmen of the Timberwolves and Lynx and co-founders of Jump, Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez.
“Today’s sports fans expect things to be direct, personalized, and seamless and we’re here to deliver on that.
“Starting with the Timberwolves and Lynx, we’re not just raising the bar on engagement, we’re rethinking what it means for a team to truly connect with the devoted fans that support them.”
Fans will now be able to purchase and manage tickets, download a new team mobile app, and access a new ticketing website with one login powered by Jump.
This is expected to give teams direct engagement with fans so that they can create tailored experiences.
“This partnership represents a defining moment not only for Jump but for the broader sports industry,” said Jordy Leiser, co-founder and chief executive of Jump.
“For too long, professional sports teams have been constrained by legacy systems that treat fans as transactions, not relationships.
“At Jump, we believe sports teams deserve full control over their data and fan relationships, and we’re excited to give them the platform to truly personalize each fan’s experience.
“We’re proud to help Marc and Alex usher in a new era of innovation, as they begin their journey as the new owners of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx.
“We share a vision for what’s possible when a professional sports franchise truly puts fans at the center of everything they do.”
