Brenden Aaronson’s fate may be sealed at Leeds United.

The American was a big-money arrival when he joined the Whites from Red Bull Salzburg back in 2022, but he simply hasn’t come close to living up to expectations in West Yorkshire.

Aaronson’s future at Elland Road has come into question on plenty of occasions over the last few months, and Daniel Farke will surely be keen to land an upgrade on the attacking midfielder before the new campaign gets underway.

The German will know that his side will be up against it next term, and he can’t afford to have the likes of the 24-year-old turning in consistently sub-par performances.

Leeds want to sign Yusuf Yazici

Leeds will surely be keen to move Aaronson on this summer, after another largely underwhelming campaign from him last time out.

It’s been a move which hasn’t worked out for either party, and the Whites will be desperate to try and recoup whatever cash they can for the struggling star.

The former Union Berlin loanee could be about to be pushed even further towards the exit, following the news that Farke’s side are keen to sign Yusuf Yazici, according to RMC Sport (13 July).

An unnamed Ligue 1 club is also thought to be interested in the Turkish international, but the prospect of Premier League football will surely be an attractive proposition.

Yazici’s career stats.

Yazici suffered a serious injury last year during his first season at Olympiacos, but he has plenty of pedigree at a decent level, having previously performed well over several years at Lille.

With a move for a new attacking midfielder on the horizon, that surely spells the end for Aaronson’s time as a Leeds player.

Aaronson can have no complaints

Aaronson undoubtedly has plenty of natural ability, but that hasn’t been seen anywhere near enough during his time in England.

He was arguably thrown in at the deep end when he first made the switch, but even so, you expect more from an expensive attacking addition than a return of just one goal and three assists in his first season.

The 53-cap international then spent time away from Leeds after their relegation, and appeared to have returned with a vengeance when he began last season in extremely bright fashion.

However, even though he ended the Championship with a career-best nine league goals to his name, there was a firm feeling that his early-season form had promised so much more.

It almost seems destined that Aaronson won’t hit the heights expected of him at Elland Road, and with a deal for Yazici potentially imminent, it surely signals the end of the road.
