BREAKING: Cristhian Mosquera to Arsenal transfer breakthrough as agreement reached

Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera just a day after Andrea Berta negotiated a breakthrough in talks for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres.

Sam Dean of [the Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2025/07/14/arsenal-transfer-cristhian-mosquera-andrea-berta/) claims the Gunners are expected to unveil the Spanish youth international later this week having reached an agreement with the La Liga side, with Valencia having wanted around £17 million to complete the transfers.

Arsenal, it is claimed, have managed to lower the price below £15m and the defender will reportedly sign a long-term deal in north London as Mikel Arteta's side continues to evolve this summer.

The 21-year-old is expected to link up with Arsenal ahead of their pre-season tour of Singapore and Hong Kong.

The Gunners are hopeful the promising young defender will be on the plane for that trip to Asia, where they'll take on AC Milan, Newcastle United and north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The two clubs are still working on the finer details of the deal, but are reportedly expected to finalise the transfer before the end of the week with personal terms already agreed.

Mosquera is viewed as the ideal candidate to come in and compete alongside William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a regular in the heart of the Valencia defence, playing 36 games in La Liga in 2023/24 and 37 games in 2024/25.

Mosquera has represented the Spanish youth teams from Under-15 level, right the way up to U23s. So far this summer, the Gunners have completed deals to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard.

Andrea Berta has also been negotiating transfers to sign Chelsea winger Noni Madueke and Sporting striker Gyokeres, with both deals also now close to completion.

Madueke is expected to complete his medical this week, while Gyokeres is expected to sign a five-year deal.

Arsenal will now shift their attention to outgoing transfers, with the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira, Jakub Kiwior and Reiss Nelson all facing an uncertain future.
