There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Fenerbahce have been offered the chance to sign Aston Villa forward Leon Bailey.
The Super Lig club want to strengthen in the wide attacking areas following recent departures and have been linked with a number of wingers in recent weeks.
Fotospor report on Fenerbahce’s links with the Aston Villa player and state the Jamaican’s agent has approached them over the possibility of signing his client.
Fener are keen to bring in a replacement for Allan Saint-Maximin, who has retuned to his parent club Al-Ahli Saudi FC. The Frenchman spent last season on loan at the Super Lig side, but failed to impress. Dušan Tadić has also departed after his contract expired.
It’s claimed the Istanbul side could now come with an offer for Bailey, as it’s believed Aston Villa are open to an exit as they look to cut their wage bill.
The Yellow Canaries have also been showing interest in Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard and Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho.
Bailey made 38 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring two goals. He’s contracted to Villa until June 2027, with the option to for another season.
