If you're a lover of sports games, this upcoming Game Pass Ultimate perk may be exactly what you're looking for. EA Sports Madden NFL 26 will get an Xbox Game Pass trial next month that will allow you to check out the game for a whole 10 hours!
EA Sports Madden NFL 26 to get a 10-hour trial on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in August
As revealed on EA's official website, Madden 26 will get a 10-hour-long trial through EA Play on Monday, August 11, 2025. EA Play is a subscription service from EA that allows you access to a variety of the games that it publishes and develops, of which Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can access a majority of.
You can also get a bunch of exclusive perks and in-game rewards on top of the game library. Hence, EA Play subscribers can jump into Madden 26 for 10 whole hours, three days before the game releases. As long as these aforementioned perks are part of EA Play Standard, Ultimate subscribers should be able to access them as well!
You see, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers get EA Play as part of the subscription, which means you will also be able to take advantage of this Madden 26 trial next month. While it might not be as exciting as a full-blown release like Gear of War: Reloaded — which has also been confirmed for next month — it's still a welcome addition to the service.
Those of you without an Ultimate subscription will, unfortunately, not be able to access this 10-hour-long trial. Your options are either to buy the game for full price or subscribe to EA Play Pro. The same goes for Ultimate subscribers; if you enjoy the trial and want to keep playing, you'll need to fork out the cash for either the full game or an EA Play Pro subscription.

While I'm not the biggest sports fan in the world, I can't say no to a 'free' trial. So, I may give it a chance. Who knows, maybe I'll become the biggest Madden fan around. Though I think I'm probably just going to stick with Gear of War: Reloaded!
