Everton can pip Sunderland in the race to sign Leicester City player with 'unbelievable feet' - …

Everton have plenty of business left to do in the summer transfer window.

David Moyes has got two through the door at Finch Farm so far, with Carlos Alcaraz and Thierno Barry completing transfers to Everton.

Moyes is now looking at adding more quality to his attacking ranks, as Omari Hutchinson and Takefuso Kubo are being linked to the Hill Dickinson.

West Bromwich Albion winger Tom Fellows, who was the joint-top assist maker in the Championship last term, is on the Scotsman’s radar, too.

But, perhaps the best bit of business they could do all summer is signing a Leicester City player who Sunderland are making advances to sign.

Everton can move ahead of Sunderland in race to sign Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss

Bilal El Khannouss was Leicester City’s best player last season and is expected to move on following their relegation to the Championship.

El Khannouss, who joined the Foxes in a £21m transfer from Genk last summer, impressed in the number 10 role as he created a whopping 42 chances, as per FotMob.

Indeed, that evinces the 21-year-old was worth far more than his three assists in the Premier League, so in a better side those numbers could easily triple.

According to L’Equipe, newly-promoted Sunderland are leading the race to sign the Morocco international, but Everton would surely move ahead if they made an approach.

Moyes should seriously consider lodging a bid for the Leicester playmaker, who is also a really good set-piece taker.

El Khannouss’ former coach says he has ‘unbelievable feet’

El Khannouss’ former Genk coach Michel Ribeiro spoke to Sky Sports earlier this year and admitted the Moroccan has ‘unbelievable feet’.

“We took him when he was 14 from Anderlecht, where they didn’t believe in him as much as we did,” says Ribeiro. “He was a tiny, slight boy at that age, very thin. But he had unbelievable feet and great vision, and he was always hungry to learn and do extra stuff.

“The way you are seeing him play for Leicester is the way he trained here with us. Always happy, with a big smile, working hard. Of course, he needs the confidence of his coach, but I think he has got that with Van Nistelrooy, becoming a starter. You can see he has grown.”

Ribeiro further explained that El Khannouss’ awareness is exceptional: “I used to tell people that he had eyes in his back, because he sees everything. When you watch him, you see he is always checking around him and looking over his shoulders.

“That was something I talked about with him when he began starting for the first-team at Genk, that he needed to constantly check his back. They call it ‘scanning’ but, for me, it’s just checking your shoulders to see where the spaces are.”

Clearly, Moyes and his Everton chiefs have a unique market opportunity to land an exceptionally gifted player for well below his true market value.

El Khannouss should be one they’re going all out to sign, as he could genuinely become an £60m-plus level star.
