Man United goalkeeper wanted by Championship side Millwall. The young shot-stopper is back from loan and attracting interest from multiple clubs.
Millwall Eye Young United Keeper for Summer Move
Championship side Millwall are showing strong interest in **Manchester Utd**’s 21-year-old goalkeeper Radek Vitek.
He was in Austria with BW Linz on loan last season. He is now looking for a club that can give him regular minutes. The Czech youngster hasn’t had much of a look-in at Old Trafford. He could be tempted by a move to The Den.
Millwall boss Alex Neil is impressed with Vitek’s potential. But, the keeper would have to prove himself to earn the No.1 shirt. Millwall looks to strengthen their options between the sticks. So, Vitek could be a long-term addition if things fall into place.
However, Neil isn’t putting all his eggs in one basket. The club is also tracking experienced goalkeeper Tim Krul. He is currently a free agent after leaving Luton Town. At 37, Krul brings bags of Premier League experience from his time with Newcastle and Norwich. Millwall have also been linked with Joao Virginia. He has recently left Everton. This shows that the Lions are keen to make changes in the goal. They want a strong player for the position in the upcoming season.
United Face a Goalkeeping Dilemma After Onana Injury
While Vitek could be heading out, Man Utd may soon find themselves short on goalkeeping options. Red Devils’ first-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana has sustained a hamstring injury in training. There are concerns that he may not play for at least two months.
Being without Onana causes them to potentially rethink their plans and either promote from within or find a short-term replacement. Moreover, Vitek’s exit could further thin their squad even before the new season kicks off. The club might have to act much faster in their decision-making.
