The President of French regional side AS Sainte-Maxime, Jean-Vves Tierence, has spent time with Aston Villa defender Lucas Digne this past week.
Vincent Morisse, who is the mayor of Sainte-Maxime, located in the Cote d’Azur region of France, was also involved in a meeting regarding the club’s future.
Jean-Vves Tierence, pushing his credentials for the position, said: _**“**I have lots of new ideas. For now, I’m the interim president. The club’s general meeting, scheduled for September, will formalise my position.”_
[Var-Martin](https://www.varmatin.com/) report Digne will be involved and is set to be presented as a prestigious sponsor for AS Sainte-Maxime, who aim to reach new heights for the club.
Tierence said the Aston Villa player _“is a man of great humility and exemplary kindness”_ after he followed through on promises to help the regional side.
Explaining what makes Digne special, Tierence said: _“Generosity by offering to buy us equipment, without us even asking. He will be the patron of ASM. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him because other players have committed in the past and ultimately never kept their promises.”_
The French international has recently become a resident, part time at least, of Sainte-Maxime.
AS Sainte-Maxime are developing consistently due to the determination of the President as well as the influence and funding of Digne, who is currently contracted to Aston Villa until June 2026.
