Lakers could sign former Thunder forward

The Los Angeles Lakers will need to clear a roster spot if they decide to sign forward Darius Bazley following his impressive Summer League performance.

Darius Bazley is working to re-establish himself in the NBA through a strong showing at the 2025 Summer League.

Wearing the Los Angeles Lakers jersey, the 25-year-old forward has reached double figures in four of his five games and recorded three double-doubles along the way.

Selected 23rd overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, Bazley is aiming to prove he still belongs in the league after spending last season playing in China.

"It's been fun, it's fun for me in a way because I'm on a mission to try and revamp my career, get back to prove I belong out there," he said, via Lakers Nation. "I can help a team win, contribute to winning."

"I've been taking strides on my shot and really my growth as a player, being a lot more decisive and connecting more on the offense," he continued. "Helping and plugging into guys, I'm going to speak towards the Lakers, like LeBron [James] and Luka [Doncic] and stuff like that."

Bazley began his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he played for 3.5 seasons, averaging 9.2 points and 5.4 rebounds over 221 games (118 starts).

However, his NBA career lost momentum over the next year and a half, as he appeared in just 16 games across stints with the Phoenix Suns, Philadelphia 76ers, and Utah Jazz, moving between the NBA and the G League before heading to Asia.
