Man Utd have been linked with several strikers already this summer, but who do they have a chance of signing?

The whole of Europe seems to have been targeting the same strikers this summer with Manchester United linked with more than most given the shortage of goals produced by their current No.9.

This won’t stop Ruben Amorim and the recruitment team from continuing to do due diligence even though the list of Europe’s finest strikers that are available for United grows shorter by the week.

Where are the strikers going that Manchester United have been linked with?

It isn’t the sort of move in isolation that should cause frustration, however, if he is the first of many to turn his nose up at United, there might be pressure to rush through something else towards the end of the window.

Victor Osimhen

Linked to half of the Premier League, it now looks like the Nigeria international is set to return to Galatasaray if the Turks can provide evidence that they can afford the £70m plus deal.

Nick Woltemade

The two-metre Messi Germany international lit up the European Under-21 Championships this summer with his ability to lead the line and play off either flank. At 6ft 5inches tall, it’s hard to miss Woltemade and it is easy to see why Premier League clubs and United have been linked with the towering striker.

As is the norm with modern football, he is said to have agreed terms with Bayern Munich over a potential transfer but the Bundesliga giants are some £20m away from Stuttgart’s £65m asking price.

Hugo Ekitike

The overriding thought with Hugo Ekitike is that Eintracht Frankfurt are pricing him out of a move this summer with an £85m price tag. There has been movement recently though with Newcastle said to be prepared to dig deep and make a real statement of intent by signing the 23-year old. Considering Eddie Howe only plays with one striker, could this mean that Alexander Isak is up for sale?

Benjamin Sesko

Another like Ekitike who seems to have been linked with every big club in England, Arsenal looked set to sign him, however, they changed tact and went for Gyokeres with Sesko now being offered to Liverpool by his agents. Like Ekitike though, RB Leipzig have set the starting price for negotiations high with a reported £78m transfer fee.

United in for Kean?

Moise Kean has a tempting release clause in his contract although it could well expire without anyone taking advantage, whilst Ollie Watkins has his name regularly on the back pages too without any concrete reports of discussions or negotiations. Both could be afforded by United, if they can get rid of those who don’t want to be at Old Trafford that is.
