Johan Bakayoko is a target for Everton this summer.

The PSV winger is coming off the back of another excellent season, where he helped guide the Dutch club to another Eredivisie title.

Now, as he enters the last year of his contract, Everton are looking to sign Bakayoko to improve their attacking prowess.

On Monday (14 July), the transfer saga developed further, as David Moyes looks to secure the services of the Belgian international.

Bakayoko misses PSV training camp with departure expected

News broke last week that Everton had held talks with PSV about signing Bakayoko.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The Dutch champions are willing to sell their star man over fears that he could agree a pre-contract agreement in January.

Now, according to De Telegraaf (14 July), Bakayoko has not travelled to PSV’s training camp in Marienfeld, Germany.

The winger has stayed behind to finalise a move away, which could be done as early as Monday (14 July).

Bakayoko has had a successful career at PSV

RB Leipzig are the frontrunners. However, multiple clubs remain in the race, including Everton, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth.

There is reportedly an offer of over £17.34 million on the table for Bakayoko, with PSV hoping for a bidding war.

Yet, given RB Leipzig’s position in the race for his signature, the German club has a good chance of completing the deal quickly.

Moyes should push for Bakayoko deal

With it being clear that a deal for Bakayoko would cost little, Moyes has to push for a deal for the Belgian international.

The 22-year-old has the potential to be a star and could quickly become one of the Toffees’ best players.

Given that the winger is awaiting a move, now is the time for Moyes to strike.

Hopefully, Everton will have a bid accepted over the coming days for Bakayoko and finalise the deal as soon as possible, ready for the new Premier League season.
