Arsenal are on the verge of completing the signing of Valencia’s highly-rated defender Christhian Mosquera, in a deal that could rise to £19 million, according to Spanish outletElDesmarque.
The Gunners have reportedly agreed a £15.5 million base fee for the 20-year-old Spanish U21 international, with an additional £3.5 million in performance-related add-ons. Mosquera is expected to undergo a medical in London on Wednesday, paving the way for the deal to be finalised.
A product of Valencia’s academy, Mosquera has established himself as one of La Liga’s most promising young defenders. He has already racked up over 60 senior appearances, earning plaudits for his composure, positional awareness, and aerial strength. His versatility, able to operate both as a centre-back and right-back, offers Mikel Arteta valuable depth and tactical flexibility ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Talks between Arsenal and Valencia are said to have progressed swiftly, with a full agreement reached on the structure of the transfer. Though an official announcement has yet to be made, sources close to the negotiations believe it is imminent following the player’s medical.

Mosquera’s imminent arrival forms part of an aggressive summer window for the Gunners, who have already agreed a £52 million deal with Chelsea for England winger Noni Madueke, and struck an agreement in principle with Sporting CP for striker Viktor Gyokeres in a £63 million package. Both signings are also expected to be confirmed this week.
The trio of incoming deals adds to a growing list of summer acquisitions, including Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga, as Arsenal ramp up preparations for a serious title push in the new campaign.
