Ezri Konsa was asked to name a five-a-side football team made up of players who he has played alongside throughout his career - and the Aston Villa centre half named two of his claret and blue teammates in his side.

England international Konsa joined Villa from Brentford in 2019 and he has been a constant under three managers at Villa Park ever since; indeed under Unai Emery the defender has gone to another level and has rightfully earned Three Lions recognition.

Konsa has proven highly dependable throughout the six years he has so far spent in Birmingham, especially when considering serious injuries suffered by his counterparts Diego Carlos, Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings in that time. More than being available, though, Konsa has proven to be a crucial component of the side have lifted themselves into Europe.

Appearing on Fulham defender Calvin Bassey's YouTube show, which also included former Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe, Konsa - who came through the ranks at Charlton Athletic as a youngster - was asked to form a five-a-side team based on his career, with the one caveat being that he had to include himself in the team.

Two of his Lions teammates were included - one being Emiliano Martinez, who has kept behind Konsa in defence for almost the entirety of the centre half's time at the club having arrived only a season after himself, and - perhaps not expected based on his time at Villa - the enigmatic Philippe Coutinho. The remainder was made up of England colleagues.

"Emi Martinez in goal," Konsa began. "Am I picking [Philippe] Coutinho in his prime? Yeah - Coutinho. I'm putting him in. Another midfielder? Jude [Bellingham] and then Harry Kane up top. My team wins."

Defoe, who incidentally had a five which was made up of himself, Hugo Lloris, Ledley King, Luka Modric and Steven Gerrard, promptly disagreed! You can watch the show by clicking here.
