Belief Manchester United could trigger clause in next 24 hours or so

For months, the Italian media have been insisting upon Manchester United having interest in Moise Kean, and they were recently joined in those claims by their UK colleagues.

Now 25-years-of-age, the striker had a disappointing spell with Everton earlier in his career, before returning to Juventus and then struggling when that move was made permanent.

He signed for Fiorentina a year ago, in a deal which could reach a maximum of €18m. His contract with La Viola included a €52m buyout clause which could activated until July 15th.

Last season, Kean scored 25 goals in 44 matches for Fiorentina, and that’s more impressive when it’s considered only one of those was a penalty. Despite that, Manchester United paying the €52m clause has felt unlikely given what has happened in the player’s career prior to last season.

It would be a huge gamble and Kean would face pressure immediately given his Premier League past.

[Corriere dello Sport](http://corrieredellosport.it) report Manchester United could still trigger the clause, making a late move before it expires tomorrow. There’s no time put on the expiry but the assumption would be it’s midnight.

The Italian newspaper states: _‘At this point, the situation is tightening. Kean never accepted Al-Qadsiah’s offer, nor did he comment on Al-Hilal’s interest, which had contacted his entourage in recent days. Manchester United’s prospect should not be underestimated, as the Red Devils could make a move for the 2000-born player during the final hours of his release clause.’_
