Chn End of the Season Awards: 2024-25 Most Valuable Player

Newcastle United Season Review

With the 2024/25 Premier League season already in the rearview mirror and Newcastle looking forward to their return to the UEFA Champions League next year, this is the perfect time for our staff to hand out some awards for the campaign that was.

Throughout the next few days, our staff will be sharing our picks for various season-long awards, including our best players, most disappointing performers, best signings, and others.

Feel free to disagree with us. In fact, we encourage you to call us out on our BS if you hate our takes and to tell us why we are wrong in the comments section below!

**2024-25 NUFC Most Valuable Player**

-------------------------------------

**Adam Goffin** — _Alexander Isak_

----------------------------------

**Alexander Isak** backed up a strong 2023/24 with another 20+ goal season, banging in 23 league goals and 6 assists in 2024/25. Isak scored an additional 4 goals in the domestic cups for a total of 27 goals in all competitions this season. Not even the great Alan Shearer achieved back-to-back 20-goal EPL seasons, cementing Alexander the Great as one of the Toon’s most talismanic strikers of all time. And still only 25! Holding onto Isak this off-season will be critical to Newcastle’s aim to compete on all fronts next season. Finally, who can forget that Carabao Cup game-winner against Liverpool and his egging on of Bruno to sing Sandro’s chant in the Carabao Cup aftermath. What a season for Isak!

**Antonio Losada** — _Alexander Isak_

It’s going to be redundant as hell, but I just cannot name anybody else other than the giant Swede. The numbers speak for themselves, and the rumors about a potential sale to behemoths such as Liverpool or PSG, while maddening, cannot make much more sense than they do. Isak is simply above and beyond all Newcastle could dream of when they got him from Real Sociedad, and if there is anyone destined to carry this team to higher ends, it’s definitely the Magpies' No. 9. Isak [compares](https://fbref.com/en/stathead/player_comparison.cgi?request=1&sum=0&comp_type=spec&dom_lg=1&spec_comps=big_5&player_id1=42fd9c7f&p1yrfrom=2024-2025&player_id2=e342ad68&p2yrfrom=2024-2025&player_id3=8d78e732&p3yrfrom=2024-2025&player_id4=21a66f6a&p4yrfrom=2024-2025&player_id5=e7695e6c&p5yrfrom=2024-2025&player_id6=8e92be30&p6yrfrom=2024-2025&player_id7=0e0102eb&p7yrfrom=2024-2025) positively to the top strikers in Europe’s Big 5 leagues, netted 23 goals and provided six assists, and his npxG+xAG ranked fourth only behind Mohamed Salah, Robert Lewandowski, and Kylian Mbappe!
