Aston Villa are set to make a move for a Ligue 1 talent, having become convinced of his ability following earlier interest.
Sacha Tavolieri reports the Premier League club are going to make a move for Jaydee Canvot. The 18-year-old made 24 appearances for Toulouse last season, coming into prominence in the second half of the campaign.
By the end of the season the youngster had managed to make himself a regular, playing either as a defensive midfielder or central defender, and subsequently caught attention from elsewhere. One of the clubs impressed was Aston Villa, and after earlier reports of interest it would appear they’re now ready to make their move.
According to Tavolieri, Aston Villa are ‘ready to finalise a deal as soon as they get the chance to submit an offer’. Whether that means they need to secure an outgoing first isn’t made clear, but if that wasn’t the case then they could just go right ahead and make the offer.
Canvot is said to be keen on the move, and has a contract with Toulouse until 2029.
