West Ham United sign England U23 international Sarah Brasero

“Even though I’m still young, I’ve got plenty of experience from my time with Lewes and Ipswich Town, as well as playing in Portugal last season which brought me out of my comfort zone and challenged me both on and off the pitch.

"Now I’m ready to take the next step on my journey and to play in the best league in the world. I can’t wait to get started.”

After coming through Ipswich Town’s Professional Game Academy set-up, Brasero made her debut for the Suffolk club at 16 years old and went on to make 43 appearances. She netted on seven occasions, helping the Tractor Girls push for promotion from the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division.

She was also part of the Ipswich side that reached the quarter-finals of the Women’s FA Cup in March 2022 which, coincidentally, drew them a home tie against West Ham United at the Goldstar Ground. Brasero featured in the match, which ended 1-0 to the Hammers, as a second-half substitute.

During her time in East Anglia, Brasero also made her first appearance on the international stage after receiving a call-up to England’s U19 squad. Since then, she has progressed through the age-group squads and made her debut for England U23s against Sweden in December 2024.
