The Cavs look like legitimate championship contenders for years to come, and now they’ve taken a major step to continue on that path by keeping one of the architects of their success long-term.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Cavaliers president Koby Altman has signed a contract extension through the 2029–30 season.
The Cavs’ front office, including general manager Mike Gansey and assistant GM Brandon Weems, have also received extensions amid the team’s rise to the No. 1 seed in the East.
Altman joined the Cavaliers’ front office in 2012 and gradually rose through the ranks. He was part of the 2016 NBA Championship team as director of pro personnel, became assistant general manager for the 2016–17 season, and was promoted to general manager in 2017.
