First-choice Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana looks set to miss Saturday’s friendly against Leeds United in Stockholm due to injury.
The 29-year-old has suffered a hamstring setback, meaning Ruben Amorim will be required to use either back-up choice Altay Bayindir or third-choice Tom Heaton. Both could be used given the nature of friendlies can result in all 11 players being replaced throughout the game.
Amorim is also likely to be without centre-back Lisandro Martinez, who is still recovering from a serious knee injury sustained back in February. Meanwhile, Leeds are not thought to have anyone suffering from a setback at the time of writing.
At least 25 players will be taken on tour, with the Whites weighing up whether to take Jack Harrison amid doubts over his future at the club. Regardless, a number of teammates may make their debuts at the Strawberry Arena.
Jaka Bijol, Lukas Nmecha, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Gabriel Gudmundsson are all expected to don the white threads for the first time this weekend. Younger first-team members such as Harry Gray are also anticipated to travel.
Leeds and Manchester United met in Oslo, Norway two years ago, where the Red Devils ran out 2-0 winners in what was Daniel Farke’s first game in charge.
Sam Greenwood, Darko Gyabi, Patrick Bamford, Daniel James, Mateo Joseph, Pascal Struijk and Joe Gelhardt are the only remaining members of the matchday squad from that day, as was Max Wober who has been loaned to Werder Bremen.
