Douglas Luiz has been linked with a return to the Premier League this summer, with Leeds keen.

It has been a remarkably slow transfer window for Leeds so far, who still have a lot of work to be done before their Premier League campaign gets underway.

The addition of a striker and a goalkeeper has to be the two priorities, though midfield additions will also be welcome.

Luiz is one of those to be linked with Leeds this summer, with Juventus’ stance on his exit now shared.

Juventus want permanent exit for Luiz

Everton have also been linked with the Brazilian midfielder, with a report from Calcio Mercato (14 July) now stating that the Toffees want to sign him on a loan-to-buy agreement, which isn’t likely to satisfy Juventus.

Instead, the Serie A giants want a permanent exit for Luiz, with a value believed to have been set around the £35million mark.

With Leeds also linked, it is now clear that if they are to have any chance of signing him, it will have to be a permanent deal, and with the 49ers’ reluctance to spend big so far this summer, it remains to be seen whether these links will be curtailed.

The Whites have only spent around £30m so far this summer in total, and it may seem unlikely that they would double their spend to bring in an additional player.

Luiz transfer could transform Leeds United

Luiz was a big hit at Aston Villa and has also featured 18 times for his country since 2019.

His experience in the Premier League is one thing, but his sheer talent in midfield is something that Leeds need next season.

Anton Stach is another to have been linked, and at nearly half the price, it may emerge as the most likely deal if Leeds are to pursue it.
