CWC star formally asks to join Wolves – Transfer edging closer, no official bid yet

Jhon Arias has now taken a formal step towards leaving Fluminense, officially requesting to be transferred to Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to reports from Globo Esporte.

The Colombian winger communicated to the club’s board that he wants the expected offer from Wolves to be accepted once it arrives.

Although the Premier League side are yet to submit a formal bid on paper, talks between the clubs have been ongoing behind the scenes, and the transfer is edging closer as we covered earlier.

Fluminense plan to revisit the matter early this week. The club’s board is facing increasing internal pressure, with Arias reinforcing – this time in writing – his desire to move to European football.

This latest move follows months of behind-the-scenes tension. Arias had already indicated he would not remain in Brazil if a Premier League opportunity came up.

He previously dismissed a proposal from Zenit and showed no interest in offers from Olympiacos, Feyenoord, and Galatasaray, all rejected by Fluminense due to low valuations.

Internally, the formal request has been interpreted as another signal of the player’s determination to leave.

While no agreement has yet been reached, the Fluminense board are now expected to seek the best terms possible before approving a transfer.
