Nathan Zézé has been linked with a possible switch to Everton this summer.
Zézé has impressed in France since breaking into Nantes’ first team. The 20-year-old has 35 appearances to his name and helped his side finish 13th last season.
As a result, multiple Premier League teams have been chasing Zézé, including Everton, and an update has now emerged on where the defender’s future lies.

Zézé to remain at Nantes this summer amid interest from England
Reports in May indicated that both Aston Villa and Everton were keen on Zézé.
In addition, Bournemouth made a £16.8 million verbal offer for the defender as the Cherries looked to beat the Toffees to his signature.

However, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri via X (14 July), Zézé is set to stay at Nantes.
The 20-year-old is keen to put a run of form together at the start of the season in hopes of getting into the Ivory Coast team for the African Cup of Nations.

Zézé has made an impressive start to his professional career
Zézé is yet to be capped by his nation but has now been approached by the West African side.
As a result, Moyes must look elsewhere if he wants to bring in a new defender this summer. However, with James Tarkowski back in Everton training, a centre-half may be low on the Scotsman’s priority list.
Moyes needs to prioritise attacking reinforcements
While Zézé would have been a quality signing, the addition of a new centre-back is no longer a priority at Everton.
The contract extensions of Jarrad Branthwaite and Michael Keane have left the Toffees with sufficient depth in this area. Therefore, Everton must now concentrate on reinforcing their attack, ready for the new campaign to finally end their woes in front of goal.
Thierno Barry has recently signed for the Toffees, and additional forwards must follow the Frenchman through the door.
