Arsenal remain firmly in the race to sign Rodrygo Goes from Real Madrid, with the Brazilian forward reportedly open to a move to the Premier League this summer.

The 24-year-old winger, who has been a key figure at the Bernabéu since joining in 2019, is being linked with a potential exit amid growing uncertainty over his future at the Spanish giants. Despite playing a vital role in Real Madrid’s recent success, including three La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies, Rodrygo’s relationship with the club is said to have deteriorated last season.

Spanish reports suggest Madrid are willing to listen to offers for the Brazil international, with some club officials reportedly feeling Rodrygo has “become more of a problem than a solution.”

Although Xabi Alonso’s arrival as manager was initially expected to reassure Rodrygo about his place in the team, the forward was benched in five of Madrid’s six matches at the Club World Cup, fuelling speculation of a summer departure.

Arsenal, who reportedly held talks with the player’s camp earlier in the window, are believed to be monitoring the situation closely and could revive their interest should an opportunity arise. Mikel Arteta’s side are already poised to complete a £55 million move for Noni Madueke from Chelsea, but the England international prefers operating from the right, potentially leaving space for a natural left-sided attacker like Rodrygo.

The situation could evolve further if Gabriel Martinelli, Arsenal’s current left-winger, attracts more serious offers. Bayern Munich are said to be admirers of the Brazilian, and while Arsenal are not actively looking to sell, a departure could prompt a bold move for Rodrygo, widely regarded as one of the top wide forwards in the game.

Real Madrid have reportedly placed a €100 million (£86 million) price tag on Rodrygo, with earlier estimates suggesting he could have been available for around £67 million. The revised valuation reflects the growing interest in a player who is entering the prime years of his career.
