Contact made: Liverpool now pushing ahead in efforts to sign“extremely quick”£78m colossus

Liverpool have reportedly made contact with an “extremely quick” attacking player’s representatives, as they continue their search for a centre forward this summer.

The Reds appear to have turned their attention to signing a new striker, having brought in Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez in the full-back positions, and Florian Wirtz in the No.10 role.

Crystal Palace ace Jean-Philippe Mateta has emerged as a surprise rumoured target for Liverpool, but he is far from the only option being looked at.

According to a new claim from journalist Sebastien Vidal on X, the Reds have contacted RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko’s agents over a £78m summer move to the club, with a £78m move mooted:

“Liverpool have been in contact with Benjamin Sesko’s camp for the past 72 hours, with the latest phone call taking place this morning. Leipzig are asking for £78m. The striker is a serious option if Darwin Nunez leaves.”

Is Sesko Liverpool’s ideal No.9 signing this summer?

Sesko stands out as a fantastic choice for Liverpool to sign ahead of the new Premier League season, with the 22-year-old not only a striker with huge potential, but someone who is already a formidable footballer.

The Slovenian is colossal in a physical sense, standing at 6ft4in tall, and former Leipzig technical director Christopher Vivell has heaped praise on him, saying:

“Benjamin Sesko is among the game’s top young talents and has enormous potential to become a top player. He has all the qualities to do that. He’s extremely quick, has a great jump on him and is strong in the air. Benjamin is a real goalscorer, who despite his 1.95m (6’4″) is mobile and technically strong. His abilities make him a special player with a special profile.”

Sesko possesses the pace and power to be an instant hit in the Premier League, and given his tender years, there is no reason why there aren’t still huge improvements to come.

If Liverpool can strike a deal for the Slovenia striker, they could have their first-choice No.9 sorted for many years to come, and he is a leading choice to come in for the Reds if Isak is unavailable from Newcastle.
