Liverpool's fresh Harvey Elliott transfer demand emerges as Prem rivals eye double swoop

Liverpool are only willing to sell Harvey Elliott for a hefty transfer fee with another Premier League club believed to be weighing up a potential move. Elliott has been the subject of transfer speculation over the last few months despite being tied down until the summer of 2027. He has struggled to break into Liverpool's starting side and could leave in search of regular minutes.

Elliott shone for England under-21s during their successful Euros title defence, scoring five goals in six games. His form is thought to have alerted several clubs to the possibility of a summer move. Liverpool are yet to receive any offers but West Ham could reportedly firm up their interest over the coming days.

The east Londoners are in the market for a new attacking player to replace Mohammed Kudus, who has joined Tottenham. They are keen admirers of Elliott and there is optimism that a deal can be done, according to the Daily Mail.

However, it is claimed the Hammers will need to pay a significant transfer fee to sign Elliott this summer. Liverpool are reportedly demanding around £40million with a buy-back clause or at least £50m without one.

The report adds that West Ham have also identified Tyler Morton as a potential midfield target. The young playmaker was involved for the Young Lions alongside Elliott as they secured continental glory last month.

Earlier this summer, it was reported that Elliott had informed Liverpool that he wants to play regularly next season. If the Reds cannot guarantee him minutes, he may decide to push for an exit.

A move to West Ham would give him the opportunity to become a consistent starter in the absence of Kudus. However, only time will tell if the Hammers are prepared to meet Liverpool's transfer demands.

Jermain Defoe, the former England striker, recently urged Elliott to join a club where he can be the main man rather than a bit-part player at Liverpool.

"There’ll be a lot of clubs watching this tournament," said Defoe on Channel 4 after Elliott scored a brace for the Young Lions against the Netherlands.

"We said it before, he’s too good to not be playing when you’re producing in big tournaments like this against the best players. The two goals that we saw this evening, he’s a top, top player.

"For him, he just needs to go out and play, get himself in a team where he’s one of the main players, and just go out and express yourself and show how good you are."
