Wolves have tabled a £25m bid to sign Palmeiras star Richard Rios 'in recent hours', according to journalist Gianluigi Longari.
Vitor Pereira's side are looking to bolster their squad after a strong second half of the season, with the Molineux club keen to avoid another relegation battle by strengthening their side for the manager.
After losing key players Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri early in the window for a combined fee of around £100m, there is money to spend and the club are now eyeing an ambitious move for one of the Club World Cup's standout performers.

Rios, who has been described as a 'freak athlete' by scout Ben Mattinson, was one of the star midfield performers in the summer Club World Cup tournament as Palmeiras reached the quarter-finals.
His performances have seen a number of clubs take a keen interest in his services, and according to Longari, Wolves are the latest club to make a formal approach to the Brazilian side for their Colombian star midfielder.
Wolves's bid was worth around £25m, which was lower than Nottingham Forest's £26m offer, and was rejected as a result. Whether they will return with a second bid is unclear, but currently it seems as though Serie A side Roma are leading the race for his signature.
Wolves fans had been concerned that their squad could be picked apart this summer after Cunha and Ait-Nouri moved to Manchester, but the club did well to tie down star midfielder Joao Gomes to a new contract before the transfer window opened.
Pereira has already added Fer Lopez to the squad from Celta Vigo, while striker Jorgen Strand-Larsen's loan move from the La Liga side was also made permanent following a great season in 2024/25.
