Whit Weeks had a breakout sophomore campaign, finishing first in the SEC in solo tackles and third in total tackles. He recorded 61 solo tackles, 125 total tackles, ten TFLs, 3.5 sacks, one interception, three pass deflections, and two forced fumbles in 13 games. Weeks’ efforts earned him a First-Team All-SEC selection.
Unfortunately, the standout linebacker suffered a broken fibula and dislocated ankle during the second quarter of the Texas Bowl against Baylor. As a result, he missed spring practices.

During a press conference in March, Brian Kelly provided a promising injury update on Whit Weeks. The head coach stated that the standout junior linebacker was on track for summer workouts and fall camp. During SEC Media Days, Kelly repeated the same sentiment roughly three weeks before the start of fall camp.
“They’ll have no restrictions going into camp,” Kelly said, via Alexis Yoder ofLSU Wire. “We feel really good about it.”

“It was a long road to get back, but I’m feeling better than I ever have. And I credit that to the training staff and strength coaches,” Weeks said, via Zack Nagy ofSports Illustrated. “They spent a lot of time with me this offseason getting my body right and getting my ankle healthy.”
