Nottingham Forest look to be stepping up their efforts to sign new players this week as the majority of the first team squad now return for pre-season training.
Anthony Elanga joined Newcastle last week in a deal worth around £60 million, and that leaves a big hole in the squad to fill.
Furthermore, Morgan Gibbs-White is interesting Tottenham and there is talk that a £60 million release clause in his contract has now been activated.
Igor Jesus has signed for Forest this summer, whilst Ross Wilson praised Jair Cunha after he also checked in from Botafogo over the weekend.

Nottingham Forest want Thiago Almada
Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis looks like he might be calling on the help of John Textor once again, with O Joga claiming the Reds want Almada from Botafogo.
Almada was on loan with Lyon last season and scored twice in 20 appearances, with five assists also coming from the attacking midfielder.
The 24-year-old looks like the type of player who might prove to be a very useful replacement for Gibbs-White should he leave Forest during this window.
Almada is also being linked with Benfica, whilst Atletico Madrid have also asked for details on the midfielder who looks set to leave Botafogo this summer.
MORE FOREST STORIES
At this stage, it’s not clear how much Almada will cost, although it appears as though the Argentina performer is now in the sights of Forest.
What Lionel Messi said about Thiago Almada
Almada made his debut for Argentina whilst he was playing in the MLS for Atlanta United and after his debut, Messi showered the attacker in praise.
He said on Atlanta’s official website: “Thiago is very fresh. He’s a very fast player who can play 1v1. He’s clever and isn’t afraid of anything.”
Almada would prove to be a very useful signing for Forest and he’d certainly help ease the burden should Gibbs-White complete his move to Tottenham.
Forest do need to step things up a bit on the recruitment front and the addition of Almada would definitely represent a step in the right direction.
