Leeds United could potentially have an opportunity to swoop in for Norwich City striker Josh Sargent this transfer window.

The USA international has been a key player for the Canaries in recent seasons, consistently scoring goals, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him take a step up in the coming weeks.

Sargent has been linked with a move to Elland Road, with the Norfolk outfit valuing the centre-forward at around £16million.

The West Yorkshire outfit are seemingly in search of a new number nine, with the likes of Callum Wilson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin being linked, but 49ers Enterprises may instead have an opportunity to hijack a deal for the 25-year-old American.

Wolfsburg yet to reach agreement for Sargent transfer amid Leeds United interest

Wolfsburg are yet to reach an agreement with Norwich for Sargent’s transfer, according to The Athletic.

The news outlet reports (14 July) that the Bundesliga outfit are in ongoing discussions with the Canaries for the striker, but they’ve still got some work to do to complete a deal.

That arguably gives Leeds a chance to make their move and convince the American centre-forward, who was the fourth-highest goalscorer in the Championship last season, to move to Elland Road.

Joel Piroe repaid Daniel Farke’s faith last season and deserves an opportunity to lead the line for the Whites in the Premier League.

While the Dutchman has been a key player for the West Yorkshire outfit, he undoubtedly needs more support up front.

Sargent represents a relatively cheaper option for the Peacocks to bolster their attack as they look to survive Premier League relegation.

Farke could lose Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph this transfer window

Real Betis have their sights on Mateo Joseph, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Spanish youngster leave for regular game time elsewhere.

Patrick Bamford has also lost his place at Leeds under the German manager, and it feels like the right time for the Englishman to look for pastures new.

Farke could undoubtedly do with more depth in his team to deal with the rigorous seasons he’s about to face at the Whites.

The 49ers have done a good job bolstering the defence and should now focus on more attacking additions in LS11.
