Palmeiras midfielder Richard Rios has rejected a ‘concrete offer’ from West Ham United as the Colombian international eyes a move to AS Roma.
Rios has made 35 appearances for Palmeiras this season, in which he’s scored four goals and assisted on four occasions as well.
The 25-year-old’s stats have remained consistent from the previous season in which he shined at the 2024 Copa America in the USA.
There’s an update regarding the player’s future coming from Corriere della Sera, and it’s that Rios is determined for a move to Roma.
It seems that West Ham’s chances of signing Rios have vanished, given the player is willing to give up salary to join Roma.
Rios may have been unconvinced regarding a move to West Ham due to them finishing 14th in the Premier League last season. Roma will also be competing in the UEFA Europa League next season after finishing 6th in Serie A.
Nottingham Forest and Everton have also been linked, but there’s insistence in Italy that Rios has his heart set on Roma and Roma alone.
