After a slow start to business this summer, West Ham have finally kicked into action.
The need to sell before players could be bought was well documented but ever since Mohammed Kudus’ £55m switch to Spurs was announced, rumours of potential incomings are coming in thick and fast.
The first player expected through the London Stadium door is El Hadji Malick Diouf, who is believed to be in London finalising a £20m move from Slavia Prague.
The 20-year-old Senegal international can play anywhere on the left and could either be a direct replacement for Kudus or be in Graham Potter‘s plans as an effective left-wing-back option.
Meanwhile, Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss and Liverpool duo, Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton, are all being heavily linked as serious transfer targets for Potter and West Ham.
West Ham enthusiastic about Sergio Reguilon

Given West Ham’s reported financial constraints, brought on by PSR regulations, it was expected that West Ham would seek bargains in the free agent market.
One player who is reportedly a serious option is ex-Tottenham wing-back, Sergio Reguilon.
The Spain international, who won the Club World Cup with Real Madrid in 2019 and has also recently enjoyed loan spells at both Manchester United and Brentford, left Spurs at the end of last season and is allegedly being considered by Bournemouth and Everton, as well clubs in Italy.
However, according to Caught Offside, the Hammers are currently showing the most enthusiasm to secure Reguilon’s signature.
Given Aaron Cresswell’s summer exit, Ollie Scarles’ inexperience and ongoing links involving Emerson with a move away from east London, Potter is in need of adding strength and versatility to the left side of his defence.
The imminent arrival of Diouf was thought to provide just that but if there is a serious effort to bring Reguilon to London Stadium, that might suggest Diouf is being viewed as a more attacking option.
Reguilon has suffered for game time over the last couple of seasons. He made just six appearances for Spurs last term, and failed to impressive during loan spells at Man United and Brentford, making just 28 appearances for both clubs combined.
At 28, the Madrid-born left-back will be eager to find regular game-time once again as he looks enters the peak of his career, and with West Ham and Graham Potter looking to rebuild and improve on the last years, London Stadium might just be the perfect venue for him to get his career back on track.
