Leeds United have made some shocking decisions over the years, but this one could come back to bite them.
In recent times, it has to be said that Charlie Cresswell’s sale brought bafflement around Leeds.
Fans are convinced Cresswell’s £3.8m was a ‘mistake’ as the centre-back could be on for a return to the Premier League.
It’s been made clear that Premier League clubs want Cresswell, along with Serie A sides, as the 22-year-old’s exit was a complete and utter failure.
For Daniel Farke and the 49ers’ sake, they hope this hasn’t been repeated after a very risky decision.

Daniel Farke makes Darko Gyabi decision at Leeds United
Despite Cresswell’s exit, the Whites still have a plethora of exciting gems at Thorp Arch.
Harry Gray has emerged as someone who seems to be the brightest, as Farke will be watching his development closely next season.
But someone else who impressed last campaign was Darko Gyabi, who was enjoying a loan spell with Plymouth Argyle.

Leeds fans wanted to keep Gyabi after some of the 21-year-old’s displays for the Devonshire side.
But this isn’t to be the case as Farke is selling Gyabi along with other squad options who don’t look likely to have a future at Elland Road.
Despite showing promise, it’s a big decision made by Farke, and one he could come to regret if Michael Skubala’s prediction comes true.

Michael Skubala’s Gyabi prediction at Leeds in 2022
Coming from Manchester City, the central midfielder looked to be the real deal.
Gyabi joined on a £5m fee but has only managed to play for the first team on nine occasions, and it’s become clear he’s no longer in Farke’s plans.
It does come as a surprise, as Gyabi was a standout for Argyle despite their relegation, as Plymouth fans wanted Gyabi signed.
Gyabi’s statistics for Plymouth Argyle in 24/25
Games played 43
Goal involvements 3 (1G+2A)
Tackles won % 69.1%
Duels won per 90 6.44
Fouls won 69
Another loan could’ve sufficed, but the 49ers are willing to recoup the fee they paid on the youngster in 2022.
Well, this might turn out to be the wrong decision if former coach Skubala is to be believed, as he made something very clear to Leeds Live in 2022.
Skubala admitted that the youngster still has work to do, but his ceiling is high and his future is extremely bright, stating he will only get “better and better.”
His time in the Academy proved this promise, and nine appearances might not seem enough time for Gyabi to prove his worth to the first team.
Nevertheless, the decision seems to be made by the owners, as Gyabi is now searching for his next challenge, and the hope is that Leeds don’t have another Cresswell scenario.
