Daniel Farke is under immense pressure at Leeds United.

The German guided the Peacocks back to the Premier League last season in a memorable campaign.

However, Leeds Chairman Paraag Marathe reportedly considered sacking Farke to prepare for the Whites’ return to the Premier League, a division where the 48-year-old has struggled.

While the manager was eventually publicly backed, this may not guarantee his long-term safety at Elland Road.

Josh Sargent saga proves that the 49ers still don’t trust Farke

So far this summer, Leeds have missed out on many of their targets.

Now, the Peacocks look set to lose out on Norwich City’s Josh Sargent, who is in talks with Wolfsburg.

Farke was reportedly keen on reuniting with Sargent, who netted 15 Championship goals last season.

In comparison, the 49ers did not view Sargent as a priority, which may have now caused the Yorkshire club to miss out on the striker.

Given this information, it is clear that Leeds’ owners do not fully trust Farke. The 49ers may already be preparing for the German’s sacking, which would explain the lacklustre financial backing so far this window.

Surely, if the owners trusted Farke to match their ambitions, they would be doing everything in their power to bring in his targets.

Leeds need to give Farke more backing

Whether Leeds are planning on sacking Farke or not this season, it is ridiculous to simply not back the manager in the transfer window.

While the Peacocks have brought in four signings so far this summer, they have mainly been in defence, with multiple key areas yet to be strengthened.

If this isn’t addressed, it will put Leeds at a massive disadvantage to retain their top-flight status and could see them cut adrift by the time January comes around.

Multiple quality additions must now be brought into Elland Road as soon as possible as the new Premier League season edges closer.
