Leeds United will play their first pre season friendly this weekend. For now, the club are ramping up the players’ fitness in training ahead of their camp in Germany.
Daniel Farke will announce the travelling squad for the camp in Germany ahead of the game against Manchester United. Many Leeds United players arrived this week, even some whose futures are undecided, like Jack Harrison. According to reports, the 28-year old could miss out on a place in the pre-season squad.

All four new signings have been completed, with some already taking part in the training sessions.
But there are expectations that a few more names will be added before the Whites kick off their pre-season tour.

Leeds United hold talks with Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Leeds have been linked with former Newcastle man Callum Wilson this week; the striker will reportedly undergo a personal training camp before making a decision on his future. The Whites have been in touch with the 33-year old’s camp over a move.
Wilson is not the only free agent Leeds have approached in the past week. Graeme Bailey has revealed that Dominic Calvert-Lewis has also been contacted over a move:
“Leeds aren’t panicking, they’re letting the market come to them.
“They’re one of the teams that’s held talks with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and they’ve talked to Callum Wilson at various points this summer too.”
Just like with Wilson, Calvert-Lewin’s wages could be a problem, but the club could work around it.
Former Everton man fits into Leeds transfer policy
This summer, Leeds have had an unwritten policy when it comes to transfers: they do it on their terms only. If they approach a player, they make sure he is completely on board, before talks over a move proceed. And with the negotiations, Leeds are stubborn in their stance and will only pay what they value the player at.
This is why the club have been able to add four solid first team players for around just £30million.
Just like Lukas Nmecha, Calvert-Lewin will be a free transfer at a decent age, who can contribute to the team now.
Comparing Calvert-Lewin to Joel Piroe
Last season was not a great one for the Everton striker, injuries and fitness problems kept him out for most of the campaign, but he still managed to score three goals.

Joel Piroe has the edge after his prolific exploits last season, but Calvert-Lewin brings a whole new dimension to the attack. His hold up play and aerial ability alone has won games for Everton this past season. In a functioning attack like Leeds United, he could definitely find his groove again.
