Bruins Make In-House Trade After Veteran’s Return

The Boston Bruins executed a trade on Saturday, but there weren’t any calls that needed to be made outside the building.

Sean Kuraly executed a deal to recover his old jersey number from Andrew Peeke.

Boston revealed the swap in a post in X, joking that the terms of the deal were not disclosed. Kuraly will once again wear No. 52, while Peeke will make the change to No. 26.

Kuraly, who previously spent five seasons with the club, returned after a four-year layoff when he signed a two-year deal in free agency. Kuraly skated in 270 games in Boston, scoring 24 goals and 44 assists throughout that stretch. Peeke, who played alongside Kuraly for several seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets, is entering his third season with the Bruins.

(Sorry in advance for deking you with the word “trade” in that headline, it was just too good to pass up.)
