Crysencio Summerville had a difficult first season at West Ham.
After playing regularly in Julen Lopetegui’s side, the winger has only featured once under Graham Potter.
This is because Summerville picked up an injury in early January, which ruled him out for the rest of the 2024/25 campaign.
With West Ham struggling to score goals last season, fans are hoping that the 23-year-old makes a quick recovery this pre-season.

Summerville ‘unlikely’ to be fit for Premier League opener
Given Mohammed Kudus’ recent departure to Tottenham, there are bigger expectations on Summerville this season.

The winger showed plenty of potential in the Championship when he netted 19 times for Leeds United in the 2023/24 campaign.
However, according to The Independent (14 July), the London Stadium faithful are going to have to wait a little longer to see the star back on the pitch.
After undergoing hamstring surgery, West Ham remain “cautious” not to rush the winger back.
Summerville has travelled with the squad for their week-long training camp in Germany, but is on an individualised training plan and not expected to go to America for the Premier League Summer Series.
There is hope that the 23-year-old can be involved more once the Hammers are back from the USA. However, Summerville is “unlikely” to be available for the opening weekends of the new season.

Summerville needs to step up in the 2025/26 campaign
While it will take Summerville a while to get back up and running once he is fully fit, the winger needs to do more this season.
Under Lopetegui, the 23-year-old only contributed to two goals, a stat that is simply unacceptable for an attacker.

Given the ability he showed at Leeds, the winger could easily go on to become one of the Hammers’ best players if he rekindles this form.
This is something Summerville will simply have to do, or the Dutchman may end up becoming the latest flop at the London Stadium.
