Leeds fans have been keen for Manor Solomon to return after his excellent loan spell last season.

Solomon joined the Peacocks in late August from Tottenham and quickly became an integral part of the team’s front line.

The Israel international produced a string of excellent performances on the left flank, scoring 10 goals and registering 12 assists in the Championship to help Leeds clinch the title.

He has since returned to his parent club, but the Whites have been eagerly anticipating a permanent return to Elland Road for the 25-year-old.

Dan James signs new long-term deal at Leeds

Daniel Farke’s side were lethal in attack last season, scoring 36 more goals than Burnley, who finished in second place.

The German manager had a perfectly balanced front line, with players like Solomon and Wilfred Gnonto offering threats out wide while Joel Piroe masterfully led the line.

Another key contributor was Dan James, who almost equally matched Solomon’s trickery and output down the opposite flank and was voted Leeds supporters’ Player of the Year.

James’ statistics with Leeds in the Championship over the last two seasons

The former Manchester United forward has become somewhat of a hero in Yorkshire, and will now remain at the club until 2029 after Leeds announced that they have extended his contract (14 July).

It is just reward for the ever-present Wales international, who has significantly grown under Farke’s tutelage and whose Premier League experience will be vital in helping Leeds stay in the division.

Solomon was quick to react to the club’s official Instagram post by liking the announcement, showing that he remains connected to the Peacocks.

Leeds should go for Solomon

Tottenham’s new manager, Thomas Frank, made it clear that he wanted to assess Solomon this summer, but the door may have opened somewhat since Spurs signed Mohammed Kudus.

Leeds should capitalise on the fact that Spurs need to offload some players, and would do well to reunite with the former Fulham player, who already knows the club and manager inside out.

With Farke set to face Manchester United in their first pre-season friendly this weekend, the 48-year-old will be desperate to add a forward before then and will hope the 49ers can secure a deal.
