**The talk around Newcastle United's pursuit of Hugo Ekitike is ramping up massively today, with Fabrizio Romano adding fuel to the fire.**
We've already looked at [Keith Downie's comprehensive post on X](https://nufcfeed.com/newcastle-united-pushing-hard-to-sign-hugo-ekitike-with-meetings-held-last-week-keith-downie-1440940), which makes claims of meetings in Germany last week and further meetings to be held in Austria this week, as the squad is out there for a training camp.
Meanwhile, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update of his own, which includes a formal bid having been made.
It looks likely that if a deal is to be done between Newcastle and Eintracht Frankfurt, then the Magpies are going to have to break their transfer record to get it done.

Eddie Howe must be looking at a change in style next season
-----------------------------------------------------------
This is a bold statement by Newcastle United if it turns out to be true, and the forward line Eddie Howe would have at his disposal would be unreal.
Before last season had even ended, there was talk of Eddie Howe switching up Newcastle's style to accommodate a new striker to ensure a fair amount of playing time for whoever they brought in to support Alexander Isak, and if they are going to break their transfer record again, they're going to have to find a way to do that in order to keep both strikers happy.
We're salivating at the idea of Anthony Gordon, Anthony Elanga, Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak on the pitch at the same time.
