Man Utd-linked wonderkid instantly breaks silence over Red Devils scouting him during match,‘that’s just the way…’

A Norwegian wonderkid dropped a telling response to Manchester United scouts watching him in action and made his stance clear over his club football future.

Manchester United’s scouts were dispatched to Norway and they attended a match in the Eliteserien, which is the country’s top-flight domestic league, on Sunday.

Brann, who are second in the Eliteserien table, faced league leaders Viking at the Brann Stadion in Bergen and the Norwegian outfit came out on top in the tie.

Despite being reduced to 10 men in second-half injury time, Brann secured a 3-1 victory over first-place Viking and sealed three important points in the title race.

Goals from Joachim Soltvedt, Japhet Sery and Saevar Atli Magnusson ensured that Freyr Alexandersson’s men walked away with the bragging rights on the day.

Viking did pull one back in second-half injury time thanks to Joe Bell, but Bjarte Lunde Aarsheim and Morten Jensen’s men walked away from the tie empty-handed.

Brann wonderkid Eivind Helland reacted to Man Utd scouts watching him in the 3-1 Eliteserien win over Viking

Eivind Helland played at centre-back in the four-man backline in Sunday’s victory over Viking and the Norwegian wonderkid saw out the full 90 minutes.

The 20-year-old Norway-born defender, who can play as a centre-back or as a right-back, started his senior professional playing career at Norwegian outfit Fyllingsdalen.

Eivind Helland is under contract with Brann until December 2026 and the Manchester United-linked player has played 37 matches for his side’s senior team.

The Norway Under-21 international has made 18 appearances across all competitions in the 2024-25 season and was scouted by United on Sunday.

Helland was asked about United scouts coming to see him play for Brann and the Norwegian defender insisted that was a ‘normal’ expectation in football.

Speaking to Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang (VG), he said: “I haven’t thought much about it [Manchester United].

“That’s just the way it is. That’s how the football world is.”

When asked about leaving Brann, he responded: “I’m very calm about it. I feel very comfortable here, and my plan is to stay here.
